Richard Loy Etchberger, a Hamburg, PA native, was a senior non-commissioned officer in the US Air Force who posthumously received the United States military’s highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions during the Battle of Lima Site 85 in the Vietnam War. The medal was formally presented to his three sons by President Barack Obama on September 21, 2010.
His son Cory will speak on his father’s life as well as “At All Costs,” Etchberger’s biography which was recently published by Matt Proietti, 4-time recipient of the Thomas Jefferson Award (the highest honor in Defense Department journalism.)
