It was another "busiest summer ever" at the library -- more than 1000 children in summer reading clubs, adults entering "I'm Nuts About Books" and adding to the book-review blog, and many folks throughout the Indian Valley reading Jon Clinch's best-seller, Finn.   (See below: Mr. Clinch will be here at IVPL on September 14.)   And, be sure to greet our newest librarian, Bob Rekuc, when you see him at the Reference Desk.     --Linda Beck, Director

Finn

September is finally here -- time to meet Jon Clinch, author of Finn -- the riveting story about Huck Finn's father.   Reviewers across the country raved about this new portrayal of the brutal man who fathered the beloved Huckleberry Finn.   Now comes your opportunity to meet the author who gave us this remarkable character.   Throughout the Indian Valley, book groups and individuals have been reading Finn this summer as part of "One Book, One Indian Valley."   You are all welcome to come to IVPL on Friday, September 14, 7:30 pm, to hear Mr. Clinch, ask questions, and have him sign your copies of the book.    All are welcome.

IVPL will host two showings:   Sunday, Sept 30 at 2 PM and Friday, October 5 at 7:30 PM.
Requirements from the producer mean that each library must charge theater prices for this viewing:  $8 adults, $5 seniors and children. Librarians and library employees, of course, may get in free.
