Thank you to everyone who participated in our Summer Reading Programs, and to all of those who attended the wrap-up party. And a special thanks to Lu Ann Cahn for visiting us and for being such a good sport in our dunking booth. Here is a link to her website as she makes it through a year of firsts - and crosses off getting dunked in a dunking booth on day 227.And here is an article detailing the addition that is now under construction - The Reporter Online.Be sure to check out the photos of our ongoing Construction Project. |

A noisy library can be a good thing - especially when that noise comes from new construction. The contractor broke ground in mid-July for our new addition. We'll be adding 15 feet across the back of the library (toward the athletic fields).
The plan:
* to add small study rooms for tutors and small groups; * to increase the size of the Community Room; and * to rearrange much of the nonfiction area to make browsing and research easier.
To this end, many of you have joined in the capital campaign. Close to $100,000 has been contributed already by private individuals. If you have not yet donated to this campaign, please consider doing so now. We are committed to growing our library so that it will continue to be a community treasure for years to come. --Linda Beck, Director

We Need Gardeners!
We are looking for a family or Boy/Girl Scout troop to take over the care of the plants around the library grounds.
Obliterate those weeds and keep the library beautiful. If interested, please have your troop leader call Barbara at the library.
AND...A Butterfly Garden and habitat is in the works, to be planted in front of the library outside of the adult fiction room. This is a long-range project that will begin in late Summer or early Fall, with the planting of perennials. In Spring 2011, annuals will be planted. Habitat will be created for both butterflies and for caterpillars. If you would like to volunteer to help with the soil preparation, planting, signage, or donation of money to offset costs involved, please contact the Reference Desk at 215-723-9109, x1 or Deb, x106.
